How Do I Get Involved?

In exchange for 2 years of volunteer service for Harrison Community Ambulance, we will provide the fees, books, and educational training mandated by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and Idaho State EMS and a uniform.

The 12 week course is taught by our qualified instructors, and is broken down into 2-3 evenings per week and 1 full day every other week. The lectures are followed by practical skill stations, where theory turns into hands-on experience! Classes are held at the Harrison Ambulance Station.

As part of the 2 year commitment, EMT’s are on call 5 shifts per month. Shifts are in 12 hour increments (6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am). Our EMT’s are on-call from home and are spread throughout the community. A radio and pager will be provided.

Am I Eligible?

We only have a few eligibility requirements.
They are as follows:

  1. Be 19 or older
  2. Be in generally good health and physical condition
  3. Be morally responsible
  4. Be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  5. Must hold a current Driver’s License
  6. Must complete a criminal history and background check
